Adare was the next highlight on our tour. This quaint place is known for the pretty cottages with thatched roofs. The
designs were varied and we had plenty of time to walk down the main street and look at the differences in the buildings and also
the thatching. Trish told us that it was a bit of a dying art until colleges began to revive the skills of thatching and encourage
young people to enter the trade and so bring back the skill of this wonderful form of roofing.

King Puck sits near the river at Killorglin, and is famous as in the time of Oliver Cromwell a group of goats were herded up but Puck
wisely escaped and warned the townspeople of an impending attack. To celebrate this event a fair is held every year and is quite famous. Our drive today is
along the Ring-of-Kerry which is for us about 100 miles. Fabulous views and on one stop we came across the locals and their animals so of course a picture
opportunity was on. Another stop was to see the peat and a gentleman was collecting some for his home and was happy to talk to us about the use of peat.
We stopped again at Killarglin on the Bay where the beach was just rock and the surrounding park areas were just lovely. An interesting thing here was that
there is a statue of Charlie Chaplin on the side of the road and many people were flocking to have there photos taken with him.
Morning tea was at Sneed and after a quick look we were off to see more cliff views, sea views and mountainous areas of the west coast. Picture stops at
the Lakes of Killarney and then onto Killarney itself to have a Jaunting Car ride which had been pre-arranged as an optional tour.

Killarney was lovely to drive into and as luck had it the sun was shining! Our Jaunting car was waiting for us and so straight onto it and off we went.
Our horse was named Bob and his driver had been doing this for many years. Bob only works every second day as he needs a rest and only does about three
trips a day so he is well looked after. After trotting along the streets we entered Killarney National Park where we moved along a track that also had walkers and
other people on as well. The grounds were magnificent and there was deer not too far away from us feeding on the grass. At the end of our ride we came to a castle which
we walked around and took pics and just admired the views from every angle.
