The Marco Polo certainly gives great views of the river banks and we had lots of outside entertainment
to occupy us to and from different cities.

Amsterdam is a city that captivates people with its architecture and the beauty of the warehouses that
date from the 16th and 17th centuries. There are about 70 islands in Holland, connected by 1,000 bridges and so Amsterdam was very accessible by canal boats and water taxis.
A great way to see the sights. Other highlights are the Van Gogh Museum and Rembrandt's home, Anne Frank's house and one could not miss the opportunity to visit
in the Keukenhof Garden in the springtime to see tulips and other flowers in full colour. Note the crooked house in our photos - a little different we thought!

Our day started with a walk from the dock to the main Square where we caught a tram to Van Gogh's Museum.
Transport is quite easy to find here and there are hundreds of bikes being ridden everywhere. We saw many interesting sights
and the World Cup was on so there was lots of excitement as Holland was playing while we were there.

After a great day exploring, we set sail and watched the sun go down as we navigated the river. It was very late
when we reached the lock, which we had to go through before continuing our journey. The water was calm and we followed another ship into the lock and waited for the water
to equate. There is not much room in the lock and we were amazed at how close we were to the sides. After a considerable time we sailed out of the lock and headed for the North Sea.
