Our stop today is the Heritage Listed Bamberg, a town in Upper Franconia, Germany, set on the river Regnitz where it joins
the river Main. A large part of the town has been declared a UNESCO site as it has structures from the 11th to the 19th century. It has a
quaint, historical feel to the town and is very easy to walk about and explore.

After walking some of the cobblestone streets, we came to the Rose Garden of the New Residence Bamberg. What a delightful area and so
full of beautiful roses. After spending sometime here, just looking around the gardens and the surrounding buildings, we left to explore the local
shops and see what different items they make and sell here. Some unusual shops with character, was a little one with green frog statues made out
of tin we think. There were many other items and it took a while before we moved on.

One place that cant be missed or not seen is the Altes Rathaus built in the middle of the River Regnitz, by the villagers centuries ago.
It had to be here as no land was available for a Town Hall. It is a spectacular building, with a bridge on with side for access and there is a statue of
Queen Kunigunda on here. The colourful facade, is unique and the cherub sticking out of the wall is somewhat a mystery or a
talking point. Quite amazing and so unusual. The Rococo Hall and Ludwig Collection are inside the building but we were not able to visit
on this occasion. Fabulous city and one to explore in depth.
