Bath, Glastonbury

Heading for Bath was pretty exciting as any visit to England should include this historical city. On arrival we admired Bath Abbey and then went into The Roman Baths to wonder at the historical evidence of times gone by. Just how the Romans used their knowledge to create such a amazing place is unbelievable in itself. The thermal baths were well used and the water supply still flows today. Statues of famous scholars and soldiers surround the walkways and add character to the building. After a lot of viewing here through the museum or display area and of course the pools, it was time to do a walk around the street area and get a feel for the place. Lovely atmosphere here and many shops and a fabulous park to be seen.

King Arthur's Glastonbury was next on our agenda and it is a different place to visit. Some locals here are known as New Age Travellers (old hippies), and the shops are full of magic and tarot reading and the like. Most unusual and a brilliant and interesting place to visit. We went over and walked through Glastonbury Abbey, which has a rich history back through many centuries. The ruins of the Abbey are massive and one can only imagine how spectacular it must have been in its heyday!
