Kuta beach and walkway

Kuta beach is amazing at any time of the day! Life revolves around the activity on the beach with many clothes sellers, massage ladies and drink sellers. Never a dull moment here and the
beach itself is a delight. Many businesses spring up here and one we saw was a tent that one could hire for an evening special occasion meal....just for 2 (or more if the event requires!)
Catching the afternoon or evening light is awesome and considering the beach itself is so clean and well maintaines, a walk at any time is a delight!

One of the highlights on the beach walkway is a giant turtle! This has been created to hatch turtles as they have been recognised as endangered species. The sign tells us how
successful they have been this year and this project will continue in the future. The new paved walkway stretches from Melasti Street to the Airport and allows foot traffic and at times
motorbikes to access the beach area in comfort. Great improvement and the development of shopping malls, hotel areas and beach chair etc areas are marvellous.

Of course the sea is the big attraction here and watching the small boats taking the surfers and their boards out to the reef for the good waves is entertaining to say the least.
Fishing boats are moored on the beach waiting for the tides and all along the beachfront young children play and are very willing to smile for passerbys. Another fairly new business (at least we
haven't come across it before) is setting up wedding venues on the beach and having the hotel opposite prepare the reception. Lovely idea! The last picture is Gary having a beer on the beach with

More scenes around the beach area and one of the fun things to do is buy an ice cream from the travelling "Wal's Ice Cream" man.
