Betws-Y-Coed
Off on the road at 8.30 heading for Wales... The trip out of Liverpool this morning was quite interesting and we saw lots of lovely buildings made of red brick. We drove for sometime and then had a coffee break at Betws-y-Coed. Lots of craft stuff here and unique souvenirs so after browsing another hour or so we left to drive over the Llanberis Pass in the Snowdonia National Park...magnificent views, huge mountains and many walkers and climbers, we travelled for a good hour or so with a photo stop and it was magnificent. Towards the end we saw the mountain side that had been mined and the remains of the quarry work...

Then we had a stop at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch for a rest stop. The name is famous and caused much fun trying to pronaunce it and we did have a lovely Welsh lass come on and welcome us here. She of course was the only one to pronounce it! The station here is very tidy and looks well used. The shop where we stopped to see the name is very busy and many people took the advantage of a lunch stop.
Left at 12.45 on the way to Holyhead for ferry trip. The Irish Ferry was big and had lots of cars and trucks as well as buses. It was very comfortable and had lots of sitting areas and restaurants on board. Should make Ireland by 5.30 then hotel by 6.30.
