We had a very early morning this morning as we had to leave Waterford by 7am to drive to Rosslare
to catch the Irish ferry across St George's Channel over to Pembroke. After a good trip we arrived and immediately set off for Bristol.
We drove through South Wales and crossed the River Severn to reach Bristol in the latish afternoon. The orientation tour took us over the
Clifton Suspension Bridge and allowed us to see the countryside on the way.

Our hotel was quite near the harbour area and so a pleasant walk was in order. We very quickly came across a statue dedicated to John Cabot,
who sailed west from Bristol in the ship "The Matthew", to discover North America in 1497. the surrounds of the harbour were
very interesting and as we made our way back to the main area saw a passenger ferry dropping passengers off on the side canal. We walked past a delightful Cathedral
but didn't have time to visit as it was nearing our dinner time at the hotel.

Next morning we left the lovely city of Bristol and drove to Bath, which was only about half an hour away. Our journey here began in The Royal Avenue,
which gave us a fabulous view of the Georgian stone crescents. Buildings like terrace houses that have a character all of their own. stunning and set back from a
lovely park with the many English flowers in bloom. After a good look around we went on a bit of a drive to see the rest of Bath and then were dropped off
near The Roman Baths which we were about to explore. The individual tour with handsets to explain all about the Baths were terrific, and we could spend as much time here as we want.
After sometime we walked around the streets nearby and marvelled at the incredible architecture and general condition of the buildings. A park was nearby and there was a bridge
across the river giving the water a bit of a magical look.
