Bali Celebrations

What a wonderful afternoon sitting on the beach watching a Balinese Celebration! We first spotted the musicians sitting under the canopy
waiting for the celebrations to begin. Local people all dressed in white tops began to walk down the beach and a white duck played an important part. He
waddled around and we were interested to see the many offerings that were being carried. Unfortunately we didn't know the meaning of the ceremony but
were happy to observe the Balinese culture in such lovely surroundings!

Another wonderful event here on Kuta Beach. We were told it was the Full Moon Celebrations and were amazed at how many people were here.
Beautifully setup with a stage and dance area the performance began. The story was acted out by the Balinese dancers and there was much emotion and
funny lines being portrayed. The dancing was amazing and the hand movements and the eye movements said it all. There were a couple of performers acting
like comics and even though we did not understand we certainly got the message!! It was quite a long exciting performance and we then were told it was in
honour of a Government Official who had come for this special occasion. We were so lucky to be there.....
