After leaving Bath we drove through Cheddar Gorge, famous for its rocky terrain, caving opportunites and
cheddar cheese...a very popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Morning tea was at Glastonbury, made famous by King Arthur, the Legendary English King who was raised by the wizard Merlin. Today it is the
home of "The New Age Travellers" or hippies or gypsies as we know them today. The shops are full of magic, mystery and wizards and witches. It is a very
unusual place but one with a great deal of character. Great food here too and well worth a visit.

Probably the highlight of the day was a trip to the Moors and especially Widecombe-in-the-Moor. The Moors themselves started out very green and hilly
and as we climbed a little higher the landscape changed to one of more sparse vegetation even though still quite hilly and rocky. There were sheep and wild horses
up here and after a beaut drive we arrived at Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Our first visit was to the tea house to taste scones and clotted cream and how good were they!
Then off to walk through the Churchyard and admire the views from here. The Church itself was open so lookng inside gave us a feeling of much history particularly
through the stained glass windows.. It appears no one will survive up on the Moors at night if not prepared so it is a place of beauty
but one that one must take care.

Leaving The Moors and heading across Dartmoor we arrived at Torquay, a lovely resort area. After a relaxing evening and a nice swim we were
prepared for our next day's visit to Cornwall.
