A lovely entrance into Darwin very early this morning. The sunrise was quite spectacular and the harbour looked lovely doused in light. We decided to do Darwin on our own as we were not sure what we wanted to see as we did the Jumping Crocs last year and loved that but didnt get a chance to see the city itself. No problem getting off the ship, and a walk along a covered walkway led us to the road and the shop area. We were headed for the Information Centre and it was only 15 min walk so that was good. It was very busy and had lots of information but the weather was getting very steamy and so we looked for a cool drink and thought that would refresh us. Checked out some shops and browsed a while. .

Then off down near the sea and park area where we found many instances of war relics and such. It was a great walk and we found the mural depicting the Bombing of Darwin 75 years ago. We passed Government House and noted the many large trees that had been uprooted by the recent cyclones. As it was getting more humid, 95%, it was time to go back to the dock area and relax in the Irish Pub with a Guiness! What a lovely visit and soon back to the ship to cool off and get ready for the sailout
