Milford,Doubtful and Dusky Sounds

The sea was very kind to us on our sail and our adventure was about to begin when the Captain announced we were about to enter Milford Sound. Guten Morgen was the sign on the screen on the deck and our first adventure was about to begin. Milford Sound is actually a fjord, one of the many highlights of New Zealand. Sailing in one did not know where to look first, as the vistas in front of us were just amazing, Smooth water, and everywhere you looked was filled with tall mountains, some snow capped and beautiful scenery.

Waterfalls began to appear and the mountains seemed to just grow and show the valleys that were in between. As we cruised the scenery and the beauty of it all began to stun everyone, and all that was to be done was to take as many photos to remind us of this amazing journey. The weather was cool but that had no impact on the many tourists out on the decks. Doubtful Sound was brilliant but we missed Dusky Sound as the weather changed and we had to miss that. Maybe next time.

A fabulous day was had by all and all too soon our Sounds adventure was at an end but it certainly gave us lots to talk about at dinner where the conversation was all about the magnificent scenery and spectacular views we were lucky enough to have seen. Unfortunately our visit to Dunedin was cancelled due to the weather conditions but theres always next time.
