Dublin, Dunlaoghaire, Guiness Storehouse
Willie got us safely to Dunlaoghaire where we checked into the Marine hotel. Lovely room and we went for some chips covered in cheese and garlic....along with a cheeseburger....then a walk around the foreshore and surrounds. We walked out along the pier and saw lots of sailboats....gorgeous afternoon and I forgot my camera....

Next morning Willie took us into Dublin about 9am and we did a drive around before lining up to see The Book of Kells at Trinity College. Interesting display of the 4 gospels and very historical documentsl. Then a walkthrough of the Long room of the Old Library with many old books and gorgeous architecture...many volumes of books are stored here and ladders are required to select books for scholars to read as the room is 2 storey and very tall. Statues of scholars line the walkway and there is something of interest everywhere one looks. Leaving here we walked to see Mary Malone (or the dish with the fish!) in Grafton Street. The Government buildings here are magnificent and the painted doors of Dublin always a talking point?

Back home and it was time to go to the Guinesss Storehouse and we left the hotel at 4.30. Fabulous place and our guide talked us through the process...brewing is an art and there are lots of actions to create Guiness (the black gold). The history of Guiness was on show by way of posters from bygone eras and some brought back memories. A pint of Guiness was on order at the Gravity Bar where a fabulous view of the city could be seen....then off to dinner in the restaurant....another taste of the black stuff. Dinner complete with a lemon meringue pie and then happily back to hotel to get ready for our next adventure.
