Edinburgh, Scotland
First of all Willie took us on a sightseeing drive around the 200 year old New Town. The buildings were made of well worn stone and the doors were quite ornate. There were many parks and places to sit and men in kilts could be seen mainly outside hotel reception and the like. The Royal Mile is very busy with many shops, bars and restaurants. Wonderful atmosphere here and lucky for us fabulous weather. Back to the hotel and off for a walk around this amazing place. So many people and tourists as the Tattoo attracts people from all over. The shops were full of souvenirs, kilts and Scottish attire so a good look for in order for the day.

Holyrood Palace was next on our itinery. After a scenic trip through the streets we came across the Palace. This is the the official residence in Scotland of Her Majesty The Queen, which stands at the end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile against the spectacular backdrop of Arthur's Seat. There are 14 State Apartments and other rooms to be exlplored and the Holyrood Abbey ruins are spectacular. This palace is very much used by the Queen for entertaining and many official functions. The grounds are beautifully keept and ther are many statues of note to keep visitors very busy.
