Crossing the Equator 2018

Crossing the Equator is always a reason to celebrate and Neptune expects that! Our celebration was fabulous, out on the deck, on a beautiful day, flat seas and lots of sun. Out came the band first and took their places and soon the cheers went up as Captain Henrik and the Senior Staff came down the steps to the stage. After a little explanatory speech and welcome, the pirates took over and selected those that needed to pay homage to Neptune. What a hoot! Eggs, spaghetti and flour rubbed into those poor staff. Of course with no sympathy from us onlookers and we did wonder what else was to happen.

Very shortly it became obvious that more food and goo was to be introduced to this already messy event much to our delight! A fish was produced for kissing and that was definitely a fishy tale!!! Mike, our Entertainment Manager was going to be quite a target and spaghetti again appears with eggs, tomato sauce (very red), and flour was added to the mix. Not finished yet as a tray of green goo appeared and was tipped all over Mike. Yuk! but all in good fun and must say totally expected for Crossing the Equator. Great day was had by all, with much cheering, laughter and thanks to all the participants.
