Hampton Court
Today is the start of our Globus "Best of Britain" adventure. We left our King's Cross Hotel early to meet our Globus people but it was not meant to be! Our taxi driver took us to the wrong hotel and instant panic set in. He was amazed to see us hailing him down as he was leaving and when he realised his mistake took us on to the real Grosvenor Hotel where we met our group. Our tour leader John, and driver Willie were there to greet us and soon we were on our way to Hampton Court Palace. After a bit of a drive through the London streets we arrived at the palace and began our walk of the gardens.
The palace was quite amazing from the outside with many different forms of architecture on the facades. We entered the gardens through a side gate and a wealth of colour and greenery awaited us. Beautiful flowers and manicured trees were everywhere and you could imagine Henry V111 and his wives sitting out on the lawns enjoying all that this magnificent place had to offer.
