The Royal Horseguards

Horse Guards Parade in London is a parade ground near Whitehall used for royal parades and ceremonies. This parade is held every morning and so we were keen to see it. The exchange of the Guards is very ceremonial and after standing in the parade ground area for sometime we saw the horses coming down the road ready to meet the new Guard contingent. The ceremony is very official and we were intrigued with the horses as they were so well trained and very patient. The Uniforms were so colourful and there was lots of polished brass around to be seen.

Now it was to time to walk up Whitehall and look at the wonderful buildings including Downing Street and the Prime Ministers Offices etc. Statues of famous people in history like Monty (Field Marshall Montgomery) and others were along the route as well as a tribute to The Women of World War 11.
