Kings Cross London

After our flight from Belfast we arrived at Heathrow Airport and we sought out the train station and boarded the train heading for Kings Cross. Disaster struck at this point as there was much track work being carried out and our train was stopped, we changed trains 3 times and were getting very anxious as we needed to check into our hotel and leave quickly to see Mousetrap for which we had pre booked tickets! After getting instructions boarded the underground train and went the complete wrong way! Panic set in! and we hailed a taxi and had a fast and furious ride to the theatre and got there just in time! A great show and a fabulous way to start our journey.

St Pancras International Railway Station is home to the Eurostar for services to Brussels and Paris. It is full of bustling people and has a wealth of history inside and out. The many statues depict past times and the whole area is beautifully presented. The station has Europe's longest champagne bar, shops of all kinds, restaurants and cafes. The building itself has kept the exquisite architecture that has been restored to original condition.

Our hotel California was very basic and we enjoyed our stay. It was very close to Kings Cross Station, just beside St Pancras, and made it very easy to drag our luggage with us.
