Off to Bali today! How exciting as we haven't been there since 2004 and looking forward to seeing the changes we have heard about. Our Jetstar flight was a very pleasant experience and
we arrived on time. After completing the formalities at the airport we booked a taxi and off to the Bakung Sari Hotel, our home for next 3 weeks! we were welcomed by the lovely staff at Bakung Sari
and shown to our room which convienently was on the first floor. Our room was really clean, comfortable and the pool and surrounds just fantastic!

A short walk around the area was in order so we could see where we were and then it was time for a swim as it was pretty hot! The gardens here are very well maintained and flowers
were abundant in the open areas to give splashes of colour. The hedging around the pool was a highlight and the pool itself was a delight to be in. We were impressed with the walkway just
outside our room as it gave privacy to our verandah and yet allowed us to say hi to fellow travellers. The pool was a great place at any time of the day...

The rain came down in buckets but only lasted for a short while and then we were off to explore Kuta itself and one of the first places we came across was the Memorial to those lost
in the Sari Club devestating fire. A general walkabout Legian Street then showed that shops had lots of clothes and items for all us shoppers to buy. There are many bars and restaurants to
choose from now and Bintang beer is available everywhere. Much needed when out on a shopping excursion!

Back to the hotel for a well earned rest and swim and now we had found our way around were looking forward to exploring the beach, Poppies Lane and the Melasti Markets in
the coming days. We felt very welcome here in Kuta and quite settled in for a great holiday..
