Liverpool and the Beatles
2 hours to Liverpool and we have a Beatles tour there before our evening Liverpool tour ..We arrived into Liverpool about 4pm and stopped at the Beatles exhibition on the dock. Brilliant memorabilia and so much to read and listen to. The exhibition is fabulous with many of the Beatles equipment and gear. The music and the stories about their life brought back many memories of a fantastic era. They even had the yellow submarine!!!

Harriet, our new local guide, met us and off we went to see the huge Anglican cathedral started on 1908 and completed in 1978. Absolutely magnificent and seats 2000... After that a great city tour that Willie had to very carefully and skillfully drive around narrow streets. Then a highlight! Our last visit was to the Cavern Club where the Beatles played,,,,amazing, a 2 piece band playing and it was all go. The stage was the same as Beatles time.The decor was in keeping with the era and the music and the crowd made it seem like it would have been in the 60's!!

Off to have a drink at McCaffertys pub and the music was brilliant. Guiness good too. Off to dinner at O'Neils and we had a Guiness pie and colcannon...awesome!
Next morning time to head for Galway .. a city on the River Corrib. It is a busy place with lots happening and many buskers and musicians in the streets. A place to go back to and it is the 6th largest city Ireland.
