Widicombe-on-the-Moor, Looe
A very interesting trip through narrow, tree-lined lanes took us up to Widecombe-on-the-Moor. It was very hard for Willie to negotiate as he got a well deserved round of applause when we arrived. However, on the way we stopped for photos of this very different hilly terrain and came across the wild horses of the Moor. They were quite friendly and some of our travellers managed to pat and talk to them. Beautiful views from here and the stones siting everywhere added to the sparse countryside. Upon arrival at Widecombe a Devonshire tea was very welcome. Clotted cream with our scones and tea were a delight.

Off to Plymouth and a walk around the Plymouth Hoe, just across from our hotel. A huge area that has a War Memorial, ferris Wheel and small golf course! Great place for families to go and enjoy.Us too!

Next morning, over the Tamar Bridge and off to a fishing village, Looe.
What a wonderful seaside resort and the mainstay looks like it is the fishing industry both for work and recreation. The beach here is second to none and many people were taking advantage of the lovely day. Children and their parents were lined up on the docks fishing for crabs. They were so happy to show us and tell us that if they were too small then they got thrown back! The village shopping area was full of unusual craft and clothing and the seafood restaurants abounded. Very obviously a popular place for tourists and others to come and stay.
