Good company and great entertainment made the next 4 days sailing most enjoyable! We crossed the International Dateline and celebrated in true form, much fun and friviolity. We were welcomed on the dock at Moorea by some lovely ladies in traditional costume and decided to take a 4 wheel drive tour to explore the island. Some friends came along and when we reached the car found 3 more ladies had booked well. Our driver, was an absolute delight and so we piled in the back and off for an adventure! We were off inland to see the mountains and valleys and the exquisite scenery all around.

Bumpy and wet roads lay ahead of us but what fun! Lots of water over the road but we managed to make it through. However after checking out he magnificent views driving along we came to Belvedere Lookout Point, a highlight of the trip. Parking here was limited but our trusty driver found a a spot and out we got to get a closer view and take pictures. This awesome Point has Cooks and Opunohu Bays either side and provides a spectacular sight. Gary just managed to touch the tip of it (not!) but it looked good. After sometime we were back on the road and passed a truck carrying pineapples and two fellows in the back. Seeing us tourists, they held up their fruits and had a great smile on their faces... what a delight!

We got a lovely view of the Solstice coming along the road and before long turned off to a side road and climbed up what seemed to be a steep hill to visit a Tropical Garden, that had fabulous views of the area and sold jams, ice cream and drinks as well as souvenirs. Lovely place for a stop and beautiful flowers as well as fruit! Great tour and now time to go back to the dock area and fill in the rest of the day.

Well, after a farewell, our friends and us decided to go for a walk and see what else the island had to offer. So we walked and walked and walked some more, seeing a few hillside hotel complexes and and statues until we finally reached the hotel we were told may hire us a boat. No such luck so the obvious thing was to sit, look at the beautiful beach and water and have a beer!

Amazing clear water here and so many water activities..no wonder people come to relax and enjoy all there is here. Cannot believe the water is so clear and the fish are everywhere. All too soon, as usual, back to the dock which was beautifully set out and filled with ladies selling pearls and then our tender came and time to leave. Another spectacular day was had by all.
