Nagasaki, Japan

After docking The Voyager right opposite Glover Garden..it was obvious that this was the place to go. The weather early was not very good with rain sprinkling on us however a walk to the entrance soon brightened our day. Thomas Blake Glover built the first house here and soon more people from overseas began to involve themselves in this place. The buildings, such as The Dock House, The Walker House and many others came along. There is Japans oldest asphalt Road here and the 300 year old Sago Palm Tree are worth checking out. Statues of Timaki Mura and Puccini can be seen and other interesting items such as the Public Water tap from the Meiji Era. Definitely a place before its time ..there are hundreds of fish to watch in the pond at No 2 Dock House and the Cultural Museum is a fabulous place to see the celebrations that were held at festivals all over Japan.
