Today's adventure will take us to visit Nice and then onto Eze, a village perched high
above the famous Riviera, 1,401 ft on the middle corniche. Docking at Villafranche we boarded our coach and headed for Nice. This is France's fifth largest
city and is an incredible place to visit. Walking through the Cours Saleya, famous for its flowers and vegetables among other things, we didn't have enough time to take it all in.
The streets are full of wonderful restaurants selling every imaginable thing but we didn't have
a chance to stop for a taste or a cup of coffee! The Promenade des Anglais was full of walkers and people going about their everyday business.
Then, with our guide, into the small streets and alleys that hold so many more restaurants and homes, the atmosphere so very french and welcoming. We came across
a magnificent church where the festival of fruit and food was being celebrated and to top it off some young girls dressed in
flowers to celebrate the coming of spring.

After the lovely sea views on the way we were amazed to see the Village of Eze sitting up on a hill in front of us.
This village is an area of stone houses, wonderful restaurants and many small unique shops. To get around we had to walk the narrow
walkways and around every corner there was something special! Turrets, ancient doornobs and small beautifully kept gardens just
keep appearing around every corner. The best way to describe Eze is in a word, quaint! Must come back and visit again....

Leaving Eze was a bit sad as we could have spent many more hours there, however next stop was high up on a
lookout where we had sweeping views along the coastline of the French Riviera. A great end to a beaut day and when we arrived
back at Villafranche we had some free time to explore this fascinating place as well. Great cafes overlooking the sea and
again more steps and alleyways that contained a plethora of small shops selling everything from souvenirs to couture clothing!
Unfortunately we had to return to the ship and so at the end of the day we stood on the dock and waited for our
tender to arrive. The finish of another magnificent day..
