Nuremberg is located on the River Pegnitz on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal in the German State of Bavaria. We met our local guide on the banks
of the river and soon set off on our coach to visit the site of Hitlers infamous Nuremberg Rallies held annually from 1927 to 1938.
These were large events which were meant to show the power of the Nazis by way of propaganda especially after Adolph Hitler came to power. Today
the grounds are in a state of disrepair, and only maintained to show that it is but a monument to remind us that the events brought on by Hitler should
never happen again.

After a very interesting and informative talk by our Tour Guide, we boarded the coach again and drove to Nuremberg Castle, a collection of
structures built in the Middle Ages. Walking around, we found the turrets and the brickwork fascinating as well as the smaller buildings that had
flowers decorating them. Mostly uphill, as one expects Castles to be, gave us lovely views of the city and then it was time to visit the City Centre.

The churches in Nuremberg are magnificent and a walk around showed the facades to be quite spectacular. The Church of our Lady clock
in the main Square tolls beautifully and is a sight to see. The Market Stalls here are again full of local souvenirs and lots of food but as
we are so well fed on our ship, decided to give that a miss. Maybe next time?
