Our tour guide explained some of the history as we drove towards one of the towns with a beautiful church and typical town square. We had lots of time here to take in the atmosphere and experience the elegance of a Portuguese city. On the journey here which took about one hour, we got to take in the beautiful green countryside which had lots of villages and farmhouses scattered along the way. There were many terraced vineyards that produce grapes for the famous Port wine.
