Oxford

Much too soon it was time to move on and we headed for Oxford, passing Runnymeade on the way. Oxford is a University town and even from a distance we could see the wonderful buildings, many scholarly statues and places where students would fill their days. A walking tour here allowed us to explore the streets and get a feel for the city. A highlight was to see The Bodlean Library even just from the outside! A small shopping mall here provided that little bit of souvenir hunting and the coffee was good too! Then it was time to leave and see Anne Hathaway's Cottage but the skies were looking ominous and as we arrived so did the rain! A wonderfully preserved house but we only saw it from the outside.
