Papeete, French Polynesia

More wonderful mountainous views as we come to Papeete and there are some jet skiers out to welcome us! The water is so calm and the reefs stand out in the clear, protected waters of the bay area. The colours are exquisite and the beautiful weather just tops it off. Our coach (or should I say bus) is waiting on the dock and so off we go on an island tour to see the sights. One of the first stops was to see the gardens and the lovely cave that has a waterfall set in.

Next we came to a Marae, where we could see the stones and statues that have been there of a very long time.Wonderful images that show the history of French Polynesia along with signs to give more information. After some time here looking at the beautiful flowers in the area it was time to see the beaches.

People were enjoying the water and it certainly looked welcoming but we had no swimmers so had to content ourselves with a walk along the beach.
