Paris was three hours away from Le Harve so another ship excursion today. Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower. The day was a bit hazy but
our photo stop allowed us to have a great view. The tower stands about 75 stories high. When it was built it replaced the
Washington Monument as the tallest structure in the world, a title it held until 1930.

Our coach took us on a city tour and we passed some icons such as the Arc De Triumph.
The arch was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to commemorate his victories, but he never completed it. It was finished in 1836 and is engraved with names of generals
who commanded French troops during Napoleon's regime. The Musée du Louvre is one of the largest museums in the world and houses Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. The Louvre Pyramid is a large metal and
glass pyramid that is the main entrance to the Musée du Louvre. It has now become a landmark for the city of Paris. The Place de La Concorde
is famous for the Egyptian Obelisk near two fountains. This is one of the pair of obelisks that were erected in front of Luxor Temple, in B.C. 13th Century, and transported to Paris in 19th Century.

Next on our itinerary was a lunch cruise on the River Seine and so we boarded the boat and were spoilt with a delicious lunch and views along the river
that were amazing. Apart from the Notre Dame, wonderful bridges and statues we were delighted to see many Parisiens out on the banks of the river having lunch themselves.
A great trip and after leaving the boat we wound our way back to Le Harve and the Marco Polo.
