Cesky Krumlov and Passau

The Czech town of Cesky Krumlov was offered as an optional excursion and it was a place we wanted to see. After a pretty drive through the countryside,
we arrived to a town that has over 300 historic buildings. Cesky Krumlov is a city located in South Bohemian region of the Czech Republic. The Vitava River
runs through the centre and the main feature is the 13th Century Castle which overlooks the town and has elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque influence. After
entering through the walls, the scenery just looked magnificent with the waterway sparkling in front of us. The town was full of narrow streets with much colour in
the brickwork and many bright windows full of items for sale. As usual there was much food on offer and traditional menus were in every cafe or restaurant.
The brickwork and images on the walls of buildings were so clever and added to the atmosphere of the town. Loved the seats that represented people on seats and
the colourful shop windows with again much to sell. The towers that seemed like they were everywhere made it look like a fairy castle, and the main castle itself
offered the most fabulous views of the city with all the colourful rooftops and more. Lunch was fabulous. We had a soup served in a bun and we all
just loved it.

After much walking and looking and shopping, time to go back to Passau for a short visit. Again a typical European town, with a magnificent
church as a centrepiece. The cobblestone roads were so unique and the building decorations and statues depicted times gone by. Time got away and we had
to return to the ship for the next part of our journey. Great day was had by all.
