Phnom Penh

Today We had a 5 hour speed boat trip from ChauDoc to Phnom Penh. Our boat seated 12 passengers and we moved along the river at a fast pace. We had to stop at the Vietnam border, take our luggage up a steep, muddy incline and have our bags x-rayed. We then boarded the boat again and travelled a short distance to the Cambodian border where we had to present our passports and documents. Off then to Phnom Penh where our guide was waiting. After a short introduction to the city, we booked into our hotel and then off to lunch. The restaurant was fantastic and the food beautiful. We then started our city tour that began with a visit to Wat Phnom, the historical capital of Phnom Penh. After that we saw the Independent Monument, the Royal Palace with the Silver Pagoda and the National Museum of Fine Arts. Back to the hotel for dinner after a very busy but amazing day.
