Picton has an industry of timber and we watched the timber being stacked up by the very experienced special tractors that seemed to make the wood piles look like matchsticks! After disembarking we were directed to our coaches for an excursion to see some of the surrounding countryside of Picton. Driving along the roads gave us an idea of the green countryside and the expanse of mountains and rivers that we could see. Our first stop was a gift come restaurant are with delightful views and much to see. Cups of coffee were in order and some very important wine buying took place

Next stop was Pollard Park, a magnificent area, beautifully landscaped, and the flowers and shrubs were just amazing. One didnt know which way to walk as every direction held more fabulous flowers and displays. Blenheim's premier Pollard Park is Marlborough's showcase with 24.6 ha of wooded parkland, meandering stream and golf course. The roses and the scented gardens are worth the visit as well as the streams and golf facilities too

Unfortunately it was time to leave this fabulous green area and board our coach to return to the ship. No visit is long enough here but we left with wonderful memories! Maybe to come back sometime and do more.
