Plymouth, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral
Plymouth was probably our favourite place to stay. The Mayflower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers embarked in 1620 was the history highlight but there was so much more to see. The harbour area was full of seacraft of every description and the bustle around the water was fascinating. The town itself is quite large and a walk took quite sometime. The food was great here and of course the Guiness was a great refresher after exploring for the day.Great place!

Today is pretty sad as its our last leg of the journey. Stonehenge is on our to visit list and everyone was looking forward to it. The stones are still a mystery and we met a voyeur walking around who believed in the mysteries of the Druids and the like. Very interesting lady and she certainly was dressed to the part. Walking around the stones themselves makes one wonder how they got there and why? Many theories but we leave that to the experts, we can just enjoy the moment in history?

Last stop on our wonderful Globus Tour was to see the Salisbury Cathedral. It is a magnificent building and houses the best preserved Magna Carta in existence. The Cathedral is very ornate and is famous for the Spire which is 404ft tall. Another marvelous piece of Early English Architecture built in 1220.
Unfortunately our journey has come to an end and after many fond farewells it was time to disband and find our own way off to our Kings Cross accommodation where we would stay for the night. Our travels over this time took us 2477 miles…..what a great holiday!
