Next stop on our Evans Evans tour is to see Stonehenge, in the county of Wiltshire. We are about to visit one of the most famous sites in the world, that indicates a legacy of ancient people. On the way we passed a small jaihouse on the side of the road where local people were placed when needed. When we arrived on site, we read the sign that introduced Stonehenge and then crossed by way of the underground tunnel.

On first sight, the Stones looked awesome! The path leading up to them drew us to the circle of stones that were so very ancient. A rope barrier prevented us from getting close up to them but we were near enough to get a good view and along with everyone else wonder why they had been placed there so many centuries ago and even how did they get here as some stones appear to have come from some distance away.

Looking around we noticed the countryside, green and hilly with wandering sheep like this one just next to us on the Stonehenge site. It apparently was very used to seeing tourists as he hardly noticed we were there.

Stonehenge is a mystery that has not been resolved over the ages but it is though to have been created to keep track of the sun and the moon, but maybe it will never be known for sure what the purpose was, however that will not stop people from admiring this ancient relic of a past civilization.
