An exciting, cultural welcome awaited us in Taipei. After much noise and music we boarded our coach and after seeing local
scenery arrived at Taipei 101,which is currently one of the Worlds tallest buildings. From the ground it is an amazing sight as the pinnacle seems
to disappear into the sky!! Off inside to ride the express lift up to the 89th Floor Observation Deck for fabulous views of the city. Situated between
floors is a massive counterweight that keeps the building steady in times of earthquake periods..outside there were many taxis waiting and it was interesting
to see they are all coloured yellow!!! Easy to see!!! Bella our guide, gave us lots of information about the building and surrounds and the visit was very informative too!

Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall sits within 62 acres of landscaped gardens and is flanked by The National Theatre and The National Concert Hall.
These buildings are very spectacular and beautifully maintained for people to visit. The paving stones make the entrance quite stunning
One of the interesting facts is that there are 89 steps to mark the age
at which Chiang Kai Chek died..

Longshan Temple is in the District Manka of Taipei and was dedicated to The Buddhist Goddess of Mercy .. It is primarily a Buddhist Temple but
over the years many deities of Taoism have been included. The temple was built in Taipei in 1738 by settlers from Fujian, China but rebuilt in 1919 and
completed in 1924. There are many architectural delights to be found here including the only pair of dragon columns to be found in Taiwan. Apart from the
wonderful carvings and decorations of the 3 Halls, the many flowers and offerings were so colourful and added much atmosphere to the Temple itself.
A lovely feature was the waterfall in the entrance area that seemed to represent peace and calm
