Tauranga
Day 6 and we are docking at Tauranga today and we are really looking forward to catching up with friends from New Zealand that we met on another holiday!
We were met at the cruise terminal and excited to see our friends! Then off to explore Tauranga for the short time we had on shore.Tauranga is a harbourside city in the Bay of Plenty region on New Zealand's North Island. A bridge over the harbour connects Tauranga to Mount Maunganui, a beach town with hot saltwater pools and an extinct namesake volcano with winding walking paths.

So off we went to see a Maori canoe, my friend’s library and beautiful waterfalls as well as the lovely green countryside. It was raining but that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time and enjoying the wonderful countryside with such lovely homes and so much green surrounds! We were amazed at the marvellous lawn that Keith had put down in his new home! .What a lovely day to celebrate with friends!!

Well, all good times come to an end and it was time to turn to our ship but not before making sure that we could return the hospitality from Keith and Karleen!! On the way out of the harbour we saw White Island, an active volcano and it stands out and is rather symbolic of the ruggedness of beautiful New Zealand!
