Here we are at Blarney renowned for it's Stone of Eloquence! As we alighted the coach we could see the Castle just up
the path from us so off we went. It was pouring rain but that didn't stop us - we needed to kiss the Blarney Stone. That's how you get the
gift of the gab - they say!! After paying our entry fee we entered the Castle and climbed the 160 steps necessary to kiss the Stone. It was not easy
as you had to lay back, hold the rails and kiss it almost upside down. What fun and glad we did it. The castle itself had lovely views of the countryside from
the top and it was good to see the parts that were intact.

Lunch was at Blarney and then off again to Waterford. On the way we stopped near Dunmore and had a look at a 7th Century Lighthouse that was built
right out in the sea. As it was pouring rain we couldn't see much of it but pleased we had the opportunity as it is reputed to be the oldest in the world.
Onto Waterford famous for the Crystal factory but sadly it is closed so no visit or shopping for us. When we arrived we were met by a local guide who was to
take us on a walk around the streets. First stop was Reginald Tower right across the road from our overnight accomodation. It is a 12th century building and
now is th city Museum. from here we walked down the sidestreet passing mosaic images of people in past life doing their work. Then we visited the Cathedral and
were very impressed with the architecture and the Church organ. Back at our hotel we noted the statue to Thomas Francis Meagher was a famous Irishman who was exiled
for his illegal political activities.

Tonight we had an optional tour to visit Aggie's Pub with a local guide named Ritchie. We picked him up on the road, and on the way he
gave some of the history of the area. Very interesting fellow and even though the rain was getting heavier we were all looking forward to a great
evening. Well, that's what we had! Ritchie brought his guitar and sang while we had Bailey's and Guiness's to warm us up. Everyone was merry and enjoyed
the atmosphere and company as this was our last evening in Ireland.
